Balzar Beskow has a long tradition of making stackable wooden chairs and has for many years made chairs with crossed wooden rails. The advantages of making such a construction are several. You get more chair with less material and the chair will be less noisy since there is no resonance “box” under the seat.
The chair has to meet several needs. It should be comfortable, durable, light in weight, silent and stackable. The starting point was the cross rail base and the big backrest with good comfort and low weight. The solution was a laminated wooden back with a cutout, both for comfort, esthetics and weight reasons.
