Unit

Unit is a furniture system that is made to simplify recycling. The design brief stated: develop a practical and simple recycle module constructed in MDF adapted for bag handling. Lundqvist Inredningar has a well-developed sorting system with larger modules in MDF but the smaller sizes are manufactured in sheet metal. We chose to have large openings and a door to simplify the management of waste. The opening makes it easy to sort the waste and the door makes it easy to change the bag in an ergonomic way. Unit has openings in two directions, one can place the module against a wall or in the center of a room. Unit is available in one to three units, hence the name. The sign is integrated into the door which allows one to experiment with the signs or play around with the order of the recycling.
