Stiliom and Alpen Office have jointly developed Nordlys, a furniture series designed to endure and perform in the Nordic climate. Materials strongly associated with the region, such as galvanised steel and northern pine heartwood, have been a major focus throughout the process.

It feels particularly rewarding to have chosen a pine of exceptionally high quality, requiring no toxic impregnation to withstand long-term outdoor use. Pine has historically been used for structures that have lasted for decades, even centuries, so why change what already works?
